I’m glad I finally got around to reading Help My Unbelief by Barnabas Piper. It’s a great read for those of us (probably all of us) who wonder why God “reveals Himself to us in a way that sparks questions rather than settles all of them.”
My favorite quote:
“A beautiful collision it is when a soul driving toward a cliff called rebellion and self-rule is steered back into the path of God’s grace. In a magnificently violent moment the old self is killed, and in its place is put a self filled with God’s Spirit, filled with peace, and pointed down the road toward the ‘not yet.’ The new self will struggle to drive straight. It will drift and even turn hard toward that cliff, but God did not leave it alone. He left it a helper who will guide, teach, and steer it in the way it should go.”
