Why bother with prayer? A lot of Christians I know are in one of two camps. Either they pray a lot or they think prayer is important, but not as important as the Bible. We’ll call them prayer people and Word people. The Word people see no need for prayer, or limited need. They are all about studying the Bible and digging into what it says. The prayer people, on the other hand, may not crack their Bibles open very often. And here’s the deal, both of these people are holding only one part of a conversation. Why? As Christ-followers, we are to have an ongoing conversation with God. He speaks to us through the Word, and we speak to him through prayer.
