Jesus Came to Die

Today’s Text Reading – Mark 13:28-14:21
“It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to arrest [Jesus] by stealth and kill him.”
Let’s not ever forget that Jesus came to die.
His teachings were radical and they shook up the religious establishment, but he was not just a teacher.
He lived a sinless life, fulfilling the law perfectly, but he was not just a good guy.
He performed miracles (even raising people from the dead), but he wasn’t just a superhero.
Jesus was and is a Savior and the way he saved was by dying. His death was necessary and part of God’s plan to save his people. Evil men thought killing him would shut him up, but they didn’t count on his death being part of the plan. And they certainly didn’t see what was coming next…
